Megan’s New Tattoo

Last night I went with my friend Megan to get her tattoo. This was a tattoo she had been threatening to get for five years. The photo was taken on my phone, so it may be hard to make out. Its six clovers surrounded by flowers. The clovers are an exact copy of the clovers on Megan’s father’s gravestone. The pink flowers represent her mom, who survived breast cancer.

Megan was a trooper through the whole tattooing. It’s a lot to get your entire back jabbed by needles a few trillion times. But I know that this meant a lot to her and it’s another beautiful piece of art by Troy Timpel.

In the meantime, since sitting still for three or so hours isn’t my strong suit, I ran across the street to Infinite. Clay wasn’t there (jaunting about L.A. having fun) so I had another piercer take out my labret (alas it is finally retired) and put in a vertical labret. Looks ridiculous now because the jewelry has to be big to accommodate swelling. In a couple of weeks, and before Brett and Aaron’s wedding, I will have the smaller jewelry put in.

Afterward we met some friends for a drink, and Megan needed a drink! It was a tough tattoo to get and she was a brave girl. Yay for tats.
